I recently read the four-issue series NEMESIS by Millar and McNiven. I know, it’s taken a while for me to get to this, as with most things, but I have and I enjoyed the bloody, carnage-filled adventure of the snarky, foul-mouthed, unabashedly evil main character, known only as Nemesis. Clearly, it’s not for kids, but neither was KICK-ASS. However, KICK-ASS had a much more defined and detailed, deeper and more “meaningful” (of sorts) story… in other words, there’s less meat on the bones of NEMESIS. With that said, I’ve heard rumors that NEMESIS may get a film adaptation. After reading this series, I truly can’t see how they would do this justice, short of luring Zack Snyder onto the project. He’s the only one I can currently envision having the frame of mind and experience needed to pull this off, but man… to do it right, they’d be lucky to get an R-Rating over an NC-17, just for the violence. Crazy, right? Oh well, if it happens… I’ll go see it, for better or for worse.
